I have an Nf7-s v2 board and 1x 512mb stick of geil valuram pc3200. I changed the memory settings to by SPD and it's still posting ddr333 when I start up. I have changed the settings to auto to no avail.

How can I fix this? would a bios update do the trick?

You don't need to fix anything.
Run your memory speed at the speed as that of your FSB.

@166fsb ---> DDR333
200fsb ---> ddr400.

And disable SPD. Set it to 6:6 or something.

The mobo automatically sets the mem = to the fsb, unless you put a divider on it. Since Nforce2 mobos perform best when the mem and fsb are equal, you have nothing to worry about.

so leave it at ddr333?

bios update did not do the trick, though windows loads a tiny bit faster now.

leave it at the speed at which your fsb is, if your fsb is 333 mhz the memory should be at 333mhz.

il leave it alone until i overclock then
