Hi Guys. Just added another cruncher to the team (2nd from top in sig).

So that's good news but one of my others went down (1800+) due to other reasons.

It's all good though as my last image (PQDI) was 4 days ago :). So I restored image but my cache of 25 now gets done again (I still get counted for them, I checked :)).

I would rather not do duplicate units again though. Can I install the whole SETI folder (cmd, driver and spy) on another partition to avoid this? I have a seperate partition I use for game installs and it would work perfect there if it's just a matter of putting it there. Thanx all, crunch on  .

More bad news :(. The aforementioned new cruncher just quit. I had it running for 2 days turned it off and disconnected power, plugged in new monitor and the red light on the mobo won't come on any more. I had my suspicions before this as on shutdown/restart it would have no mouse or kb and required a reset to get them back...every time!! Also I flashed bios to latest non beta bios and could never complete another flash again (always hung during new bios read). BTW it's a DFI NFII Ultra Infinity. The power supply is a generic 400W but I did switch with my perfectly working in another puter Enermax 431W and still no mobo light. Looks like board is toast. Could it be CPU (2500+)?? I did oc for awhile to 200MHz but not long. I upped CPU to 1.8V, chipset to 1.7v, AGP to 1.6V and mem to 2.9V when I did the oc but backed off because of the mouse/kb thing. Am using OCz PC3500EL 512kit.

I don't think that it has anything to do with the cpu. If you're getting power to the mobo, then the light should come on, if not the mobo is dead. I don't know much about your DFI mobo, but I don't see how running a 200MHZ FSB would be a problem, since that board does support 400MHZ. My guess is that it was either a defective board and just quit, possibly due to the extra stress put on it, Or it may have just been to much voltage that caused the problem. I have two Asus A7N8X boards, one of them can be pushed pretty hard. But while attempting a somewhat small voltage bump on the other mobo, the HDD corrupted the OS, and the system wouldn't even boot into safe mode...:-/

Think I found the problem. One of the sticks of RAM will not prime for even a minute @ 166 2.5-4-4-4-11 15 15 @ 2.9V. The other stick is currently crunching at 200 2-3-3-11 13 15 @ 2.6V (nice "matched" pair LOL) and primed for 24 hours without a hitch :). Also no more kb/mouse failure :).

You can move your entire Seti folder around partitions. Just make sure you reconfigure the client drive in SetSpy.
