View Full Version : Video "randomly" dissapears?

Recently, my computer seems to have been having issues with the video cutting out. It's allways happened while I'm gaming, and nothing but a reset/reboot will get it back.

The game will freeze for a few seconds, and then my monitor turns off. I can hear the game continue in the background, so I know the computer isn't frozen, but I can't get any video back. Plugging in a different monitor does nothing.

What could be causing this? There are two things I'm thinking of, but don't know if they could be the cause. The first is VPU recovery. I've heard people having issues with it, and with the game freezing for a few seconds it makes me think the card is resetting itself. The second is UT2K4. The last two times it did this I was playing that game. It happened a third time, but I don't remember if I was playing it that time...

All input is welcome :)

It has to do with VPU recover. I had the same problem untill I turned it off.

Cool :) I disabled VPU recover and haven't had any problems as of yet. However, they do seem to occur rather randomly so it'll be another day or so before I'm sure it fixes it.
