I've been messing around with my memory and clocks and multis and have come to the final overclock with my current cooling.

I'm running stable in Prime95 @
230x9.5
460FSB
2190MHz
37C Idle
46C Load

Should I call it a day with current cooling? If I step up to the 10x multi, I will be hitting loads in the low 50's prolly. What do you all suggest?

I'm running a Vantec Aeroflow (CLICK (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-110-007&catalog=62&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1) )

Not necessarily, unless you have to raise the vcore. I say give it a shot at 10x, and if you find that it is unstable or the temps do get too high then you can just stop Prime95 and set it back with no harm done.

Just curious, what cpu and ram do you have in there?

Do a low multi, high FSB and vcore. Burn that baby in 'till you get a better cooler.

I usually don't stop voltage until I'm in the mid 50's with air cooling... Generally I get the comp to flat out crash on startup before cooling is a big issue... my current chip just kept giving me massive frequency gains and that's what prompted the water upgrade... that's how I see it, stop when you hit diminishing returns unless it gets too hot.

You're certainly not at the max for that chip if heat is your only issue.

IMO turn it up but then again I would only do this with a extra cpu sitting beside me. If you got a back up to put in place of the cpu if you fry it then crank her up and see what she will do. I myself have 3 cpu's around here 2 running 24\7 and 1 backherup.

P.s. is 230 max fsb for ram\mobo?

I don't think 230 is the max... the RAM is PC4000 so it should do 250 and I've heard of people going even higher than 250 with this mobo... but 230 is starting to get into the upper limit of my setup
