how mny of you guys reformat a new PC as soon as u get it? or is it beter to just run it as installed till it crashes? I know there is no MAJOR diff, just wanted to know at the popular opinion was
I didn't reformat my lappie, but in some ways wish I had. Some of the Toshiba stuff is just stoopid and windows already has the feature. I've had some random issues from time to time, which I traced to some software conflicts. Nothing serious, but enough to make me go "I wish I did a fresh install".
Be sure to make a ghost image once you're satisfied with the install. Never know when you might need it.

well i do have a copy od Norton ghost but ive never used it, guess i'll have to dusst it off and figure it out.
this thing is a lot better then my old P2 win95 machine lol
The first thing I did when I got my new laptop was re-partition and reformat the thing. I then took a ghost image so I never have to reformat again.
There's just way too much junk on a computer when you buy it new. I don't like turning on a brand new computer and seeing 12 icons in the taskbar.

I agree wholeheartedly. Every time I buy a new laptop the first thing I do is wipe the HD, install Windows and everything else THE WAY THAT I WANT IT! I am typing this response on my 3rd laptop drom Dell. I hate the stuff that they put on their systems!
Wipe it out and install stuff the right way!
