Hi,

I recently bought a Pentium III 650 Slot1 CPU, but when I start my computer with this processor it boots into windows, lets me play or work for about 15 minutes and then it locks up(my two other celeron 600 FCPGA CPUs work perfectly). I increased the voltage, underclocked it to 433 MHz, but nothing did help. By the way, I'm using an Alpha P3125s cooler, so temperature isn't the problem! Temp keeps stable at under 30°C!! I do not know how to get it to work properly. If you can help me please post it here!

What motherboard are you using?

Slot 1 is evil, I have one. I am stuck forever at 750mhz (unless I sell and start fresh on a new, non-slot 1 system).

Suggest you stay at defaults and upgrade later.

Chip lockups at defalt settings are hairy, usually you need to tinker a bit with memory, cards, etc until you track down what is causing it. This is the hassle of building our own machines, we save money but NEVER time.

It's 100% the CPU and not the motherboard or anything else!
I had two Celeron 600 and one Pentium III 600 EB running in this machine without problems, so it must be some kind of error on perhaps the Slot 1 PCB.
