^^^^
dont bother - but an ATI product or something else another 3rd party company - but not NVIDIA - i have heard nothing but crap about their personal cinema.
You've been reading the wrong reviews and/or hearing from the wrong person(s) then, cause I went and searched for a recent review of a Chaintech FX 5600 PC and not only did they say the quality was good, but it was easy to use too.

^^^ what site wa sit on? It is always best to read more then 1 review.
quaslity was "good" - i would not want good - i would want excellent and since ATI cards to my knowledge use the best TV tuner / encoder chips out their, i dont see how nvidia could be better. - also not to mention how long ATI has been designing these types of cards where as it is a fairly new market for nvidia.

I have an MSI Ti4200 128MB VTD128. I connected the video in to the RCA output of my VCR, had the latest Nvidia WDM driver (2/2/04) installed, use Windows Media Encoder 9 for recording TV programs, and I find the quality to be very good. I'm using the WMV9 format, with a bit rate of 1024 kbits/sec, getting 640x480 @29.97 frames/sec with no dropped frames. My machine is a P4 2.8c @3.2, on an Abit IS7, with 1024MB PC3200 memory.
