I have a 600k cable modem and three computers.

In my own computer i have 2 network cards and the 2 computers also have network cards. I also have a 8 way network hub.

All the computers run Windows XP PRO.

I am looking to allow all three to connect to the internet at the same time so that ppl in my family stop coming into my room and changing the ethernet cables for their computer.

Anyone have an idea on how to does this?

Cheers :)

The easiest albeit not cheapest is to purchase a router. You could also bridge the 2 NICs in your computer, hook the modem up to one and the hub to the other one. Then setup ICS on your machine.

Get a router...

Also, if you did ICS the computer with the internet plugged into would need to always be on for the others to use the net. Best bet would be to buy a cheap router.

Since you already have a hub you can go with a router that only has one cat5 connection and save a little bit of money (like $3 these days bur even so). Linksys makes the BEFSR11 that will fit the bill nicely for around $45.

Also, if that really is a hub and not a switch, you can monitor your children to see what they are doing on the internet.
