I have a PIII 866 with a cuv4x asus motherboard. It has a large heatsink and a good fan. How fast would be safe to o/c it. do you think like I could get it up to 1000 or 933? And also I am doing the manual setting so I was wondering what speed I need. right now it is 6.5x135.? somthing like that. What would be a safe bet?
144 would give you 936mhz.
Best thing is just to start increasing the fsb 2-3mhz at a time and see how far you can get before you start having problems.
Keep a watch on your temps.

As Placid sais take it up slowly and until its unstable or wont boot then increase core voltage a little until its stable again. Also if you clock to high you may have to turn your memory down in bios my MB has minus and plus hostclock this will help to get better results also disabling sideband is important for coppermine's helped me get a few more MHZ at high FSB settings Just saw this your network cards may cause problems when overclocking allot of them really dont like the pci bus being overclocked, Also quality ram will help more so then generic or cheap ram
I run a close system 2 urs i also have a p3 866 with the asus cuv4x with a few extra fans i hit 1027mhz stable and safe, had to do some case mods to mount the extras fans though, need a lil help with urs? email me at bryanb1999@hotmail.com
