You can pick up a wireless router for cheap. Under $30 if you shop for sales. Stick with a name brand and even if you don't need the wireless part you can disable it and still have a cheap 4 port router.

Compusa and Staples both have a netgear router for $19.99 After rebate this week.

I have used D-link, netgear and linksys and found them all to work well.

You might want to stay away from linksys.... for my time as an avid gamer, i've had some ups nad downs with it, and ESPECIALLY when trying to setup a gaming server.....

Linksys shows no mercy to gamers.
imho

I have a Linksys wireless, it does from time to time require a restart to re-establish connections.......( once or twice a week).

I also have a old Netgear RT314 that is just solid as a rock. (no wireless).
It allows me to telnet right in to it with tons of options,

The Telnet protocol allows for extended configurations beyond most HTML based
interfaces.

Yes, if your router has 4(or more) ports.
Additionally, If your router is also a internet gateway, you naturally can access the
web from all computers attached to it.

I don't use windows, but I understand XP meets all requirements for a "easy" setup.

Every home use router I have ever used could be setup in under 5 minutes by any user that can read on a 1st grade level. Getting it to run a server or something like that can take a few inutes but just for basic internet sharing and file-sharing it takes longer to connect the cables than to get it all working.

By the way - make sure you read the manual BEFORE installing... i found that when i first installed and missed the part about connecting to the router thru IE or netscape, the router needed a restart every so often... but when i redid the installation from scratch.... and logged into the router.... works solidly... so please read the manual!!!!
