I clocked my PIII 800 EB proc. to 900 Mhz it works fine. I can benchmark it without any problem.
But when it has no load my comp hangs. Anyone have an idea??
temp. is about 40° on full processor load

Specs.

Do you mean when your not using it for awhile?
If so sounds like something to do with power savings.
Maybe disable it to test.

I agree.. most power saving / ACPI setups do not like clocking at all... I was lucky with my machine though...

I don't use power saving. :)
I was browsing on the internet when my computer hung

Postman, I think I know what you mean.. :) I had similar problem with a game long before.. When I actually play the game it had no problems but it froze on me if I dont do anything in the game menu and just sit there.. for example. I think the high FSB is pushing the computer to work hard constantly as if it's eager to work hard. I know what Im saying is kinda strange but it seems that way. Afterall, they behave just like us humans, haha~~ It's just my opinion. I could be totally wrong ^_^ Just let it running and over time, I think your PC will get used to its speed and become stable. :)

PostMan, did you install the processor yourself, if so how much or should i say how little of thermal paste did you use? too little and it is harmful, too much and its even worse
