Hi all,
I was wondering, I am looking to build a spare system for SETI and stuff, and for stability concerns I decided to go with a single CPU setup. I am looking to upgrade my current setup in my main comp (C600 CC0 at 930, Abit BX6-2) to a C800 because of the 100mhz FSB it runs from the factory. I plan on using my old cpu in my spare system and buying an older Abit Via chipset board to run it on. My question is what are my chances at running the Celery 800 at 1ghz? I hit 1ghz and ran at it at 2v for about three months before getting blue screens and having to ease back with my 600 CC0. If I havent got a real good chance at running the 800 at 1ghz, what celery should I buy then to get there? (cant afford a PIII)
Thanks
LTrey

Lancelot has had good success with this chip. He's gotten his well beyond 1GHz. I've never looked, but check the database on the front page and see what's been posted for results w/ the C800....

I had some success with the 667/66fsb, it's got the perfect 10x multiplier for a 1000 overclock at 100fsb.

Why not save up a little more money and get a P3. There are still 700's around and they only go for 30-40 dollars more than the Celeron 800's. Most 700's will do 933 with ease. Alot will do 980 or 1gig with just a little more coaxing.

Stick with celeron, they are cheaper and offer very close performance to p3's
