yeah, I get 5600 with a softmodded and o/c 9500n/p with a 2500+ running at 2.2ghz. Good luck though.
Please don't post crosspost erics1one
I replied to your other thread

I did terrible with my 9700pro, who cares, the games look awesome, and benchmark programs, especially that one, don't realistically mean crap.

I get 1100 with my GeForce 3 with 3DMark03 but I can still play games quite well for this card.
I assume that you are running all at performance settings in the drivers?
Also, snag Rage3d and run performance settings with it as well.

make sure you have AA and AF turned off as those will kill your bench scores (even though they make everything look purdy, just turn em back on after you bench)

Could you get me some info on those 5600 points.I get only 2545 on stock speeds(325/200) with my Sapphire 9600np and 2174 with 360/230?!!
So,when I o/c it i get smaller points in 3dmark2003.
I got 9180 stock in 2001 and 10074 o/c to 360/230.
Also, how did you softmoded yours and what speeds are u running stock/o/c?

9500 np sometimes could be softmodded to a 9700, your 9600 cannot be softmodded to anything, sorry its completly different GPU archutecture than the 9500, 9700, 9800 np, pro's or xt's. sorry.

Thanks guys
the guy's that score in the 7000's have overclocked the snot out of their 9800's.you can pick up a few points on game test 1 by tweaking your system but the other three game test's are going to take some more of a vga overclock to see any significant gains.if you post a compare link it can help us see where there is room for improvement.

Yeah, dont rely on retarted benchmarks. Nvidia knows that everyone pays close attention to benchmarks, and cheat with them all the time, they are so inmature, thats all they care about is getting the highest 2003 3Dmark score, and will go as far as fine tuning their drivers specifically for 3dMark2003 just to keep up with the top of the line ATI's. Another funny thing is that they are fine tune their drivers for their top card the 5900U and 5950U.
Sorry got off the subject their... but if u really wanta know if sumthins wrong with ur card then just replace it?

Although your right about benchmarks when it comes to "I got a better score on 3dmark therefore these new drivers etc are better" kinds of philsophys. Synthetic benchmarks do serve a few purposes. They can be used to find problems in your system's 3d pipeline. This thread is a perfect example of this. The poster wasn't worried about his 3dmark score persay, he was worried about his 3d performance in general. And its turned out that he wasn't applying his overclock, problem solved. Thank you very much 3dmark.
3dmark is also a great video card stress tester.
Oh and one more thing...

Turn aa and af to app prefference, And pump your pagefile to 2500min 2500 max and you will gain a good deal of points.
Turn OFF Fastwrites.

I have no idea actually. I just got the Barton MPs a few days ago & and new fatty external drive (5400rpm 300gb maxtor) so I've been busy transfering files and stress testing the new CPUs between work and school.. I wouldn't be surprised if 3D performance was screwed up on this install anyway. I've gone from Nvidia det 45.23 -> Nvidia fw 53.03 -> ATI cat 4.1 -> ATI cat 4.2 since my last format
I haven't tried more VC overclocking since getting the VGA Silencer either. This card did 405 gpu with stock cooling so I'm hoping for 420 /w this thing
So much hardware to mess with, so little time.....

well you should get roughly what I have which is 55xx something normally.
funny thing is that I had 5200 with a 2 week old install (bad install) and then I did a fresh install again and oh behold I got 55xx something.
sometimes thing do bugger up.
created a drive image now before drive install! after drive install, after installing all programs and settings, and do a drive image every 2 weeks. my windows partition is only 2.3GB compressed. and backup takes 2 minutes so get a Drive Image program

This is the classic overclocking question bro. It's asked often about many things. The generally accepted answer is something like this:
If you're not adding excessive voltage and the chip stays reasonably cool there is little to no danger of killing or damaging the part.
Applied to this situation.. I've seen many many people uberclocking their video cards on stock cooling. Rarely (if ever) will you hear about video cards 'just dying' one day because they've been overclocked. If you're really worried about it however, I suggest buying a VGA silencer. These things are great little pieces of work. They reduce your GPU temps significantly (5 - 10c or higher), give you better overclocks, and blow the hot air out of the case. The only negatives to them is you pop your warranty if you install one and they take up a PCI slot. Well... two slots since nobody in their right mind is going to put a PCI card that close to the cooler.
In the end though, its up to you. If you don't feel comfortable overclocking your card, don't. What many of us forget in our overclocking zeal is the 10% of extra performance you get from overclocking isn't that important. It's the 100% that the card comes with that truly matters

With processor overclocked to a 2.8 and even raising the core on my ATI card to 390sMhz I still range around the 4500 mark.
Although that score is still better than most (on different hardware), doesnt this mean that I have something wrong somewhere? I have been playing with OCing for quite some time, so I'm quite knowledgeable in that field, but I know that others can score way higher with my hardware...please tell me why.
TIA to anyone who can help.
My system is very similar to yours...I have never tried the omegas but scored almost 6200 at 3.12 ghz and 405/369 on stock vga cooling...
using 3.7s....now running 4.2s..cause benchies arent everything...

ours is clocked the the maxxxx to get 7s with what we have.speeding up the ram timings also will yield higher score..
