Here’s a good one for you guys that I haven’t seen discussed here before. How do you remove the sata power connectors? I worked around them (sort of) for this sleeving but next time I may need to remove them. Anyone done this? No guide has any that I have seen nor does the search bring up anything relevant. Thanks

If you look carefully on either side of them, you should see where they clip together. In the interest of modding, I'll sacrifice one of mine. I'll post pics in a bit.

Sorry about the poor quality pics...

1- Locate the clips on either side of the power connector.

2- GENTLY open up the clips on either sid eof the connector. It may help if you heat up the clips with a hair dryer/ heat gun/ lighter etc... to soften the plastic, and make it more pliable. (see step 2a...)

2(a)- Don't be an idiot like me and try this after only 9 hours sleep in the last 3 days. You may....

...break the clips. (you won't die a horrible death if this happens, and it's easy to remedy.)

3- Gently pull/wiggle the two parts of the connector till they seperate, and come apart.

4- You should now have the connector in two pieces. MARK DOWN THE ORDER OF THE WIRES, AND MARK WHICH GROUND IS WHICH. This may seem trivial for the ground wires (a ground is a ground is a ground...), but I don't know the internals of a SATA PCB so I wrote the order down, and want to keep them the same.

At this point you should be able to figure out how to put the connector back together. Repeat these steps for the second connector if necessary. Sleave or shrink wrap to taste. I would suggest you try to get the wires to sit back exactly where they used to sit in the connector. The connector cuts into the sheath, and to avoid a short this just seems to make sense to me. If you have broken the clips on either side, just put a couple of dabs of super glue on the connector on the sides, before you put it back together, and you should be good to go.

Np dude. just be careful, and you won't break anything. I was tired (still am  ). Take your time, an dlike I mentioned, breaking the clips on either side is hardly the end of the world.
