I have a P3 800EB and i tried to overclock it but BOTH the cpu ratio and the voltage are locked.. i was wondering if anyone knows how to get around the lock or unlock it so i can fiddle with the cpu ratio and voltage.. ps i've already raised the FSB to 140 MHz (it's the only thing not locked)..... if you know how to get around this problem let me know.. THANKS

Cable you cannot unlock a p3 no one can raising your core voltage too proccesor and FSB are the only things you can do except for fine tuning your overclock through bios in bios if you set it to user define you might be able to raise your CV good luck

you really should do a little research before delving into overclocking and it can quite easily leave you with a none working system. You can't change the multiplyer/ratio on intel chips, simple as that. the voltage can either be changed in the bios, with jumpers on the motherboard or by wiring pins together. and the only way to overclock intel chips is by the fsb, which your EB chip makes all the moer harder because it starts on a 133mhz fsb, the best p3 for overclocking is the 700

ok so how do you change the core voltage??? i've tried bios AND jumpers and nothing happens... the voltage stays at 1.65 V.. help please

If the board has jumpers for voltage or bios options then these should work, otherwise you will ned to do the wire trick
check this out for details hardocp (http://www.hardocp.com/articles/intel_stuff/bumpvoltage.html)
But you only need extra voltage if the cpu is holding you back, and with an EB chip it is more likely your ram, motherboard, vid card, pci cards or harddrive is holding you back

Before vidpinning I would hang out at this forum and get some good info overclocking can be easy but at the same time theres more to it then meats the eye. Knowledge will carry you a long way and your PC will thank you. Vidpinning should be used as a last resort and you may find that youve missed something and there very well may be a way to adjust VC without vidpinning.
