heatercore and shroud question

Does the heatercore need to be completely sealed off by the shroud? What there is a little bit of gap would that affect the temps much?

Yes, you need to have a good seal on your shroud or some of the air will bypass your HC fins and decrees the efficiency of the assembly.

the gaps are not big, just the shroud is not completely straight on the edges thereby revealing little parts of the heatercore..
