Whats better. memtest86 or memtest?

Memtest86 seems more popular. But memtest can run in windows (with a GUI). What do you think is more reliable?

I would go with 86 for the fact that it DOES NOT in fact run in windows....the less stuff running the better, especially when it comes to windows....

but thats just my opinion

Neither, they're both outdated. Run the latest version of Memtest86+.

I would definitely use memtest86 over memtest, never heard of memtest86+ though, sounds good.
