Yes, I meant vcore. NOT vdimm...
Alright, I thought it was weird when I couldn't get into windows at 220x11, 2.5-3-3-11, yet I could run prime for 24 hours at 216x12, 2-2-2-11.

So I tried memtest at 217, 2-2-2-11, what my Mushkin lvl2 3500 is rated for. First test, 40 or so errors.

I bought this ram referbished off new egg. It ran memtest86 for 15 hours, and prime for 24 at 217 2-2-2-11. So I thought this was weird.

I noticed the ONLY thing that is different (other then the mb) is that I raised the vcore up from 1.9 to 2v. So I put it back down, and ran 217x11 w/ 1.9vcore, and ran fine for 3 hours.

Anyone know why this is? Here are my 24hour MBM5 readouts after priming for 12 hours, and playing games/idling the rest.

The 51c and 28c were just in the morning when the heater came on and my door was closed=REALLY hot room.

Running prime with NORMAL temps in my house yeilds 44c load and case never gets above 24c.

So any idea's? I'm giving the ram 2.9v, when spec's only call for 2.7v! (I tried with 2.8v, and got EVEN more errors)

Hi iLLestOne,
have you tried to use an higher Fsb with a lover multiplier? probably you're asking too much to your Barton.
My Puppy is Rock stable @12x199Mhz 1.8v, but for 12.5x199Mhz need no less than 1.975v.

Use Memtest86, and get the highest Fsb which your Ram can handle, so rise the multip and Vcore if needed ;)

Yea, 220x11 is the lowest I can take the multi. My nf7-s doesn't like 10 and 10.5 AT ALL! :(

But, 220x11=2420mhz, 216x12=2592mhz. Just to me, it seems crazy that I can almost hit 2.6 w/ 216fsb, yet with 220fsb, i can't even hit 2.4mhz. It could be the board that is limiting me, but I think it's weird that the ram fails memtest.

The ram has passed memtest at 225, 2-2-2-11 before. I will test that again.

But it failed the first test within seconds with a 2vcore. ALL I did is lower the vcore to 1.9v, and lower the multi. to 11.5 and memest lasted for hours!

I have sinks on the mosfets&pll, and good case flow also, btw.

you have to remember all the components work in unison, actually sometimes feeding secondary electronics on the board. for ex. the vagp adjustment on the ic7 is for agp voltage, but it also feeds into the northbridge which sometimes helps with stability. so when u jump to 2v another critical component involved with the memory or stability may be gettin starved..

Or the extra voltage to your processor is causing it to overheat and generate errors...flapperhead's probably got the right idea though.

Ok, now this is getting annoying!

Memtest freezes!!! with 217 2-2-2-11, 1.95vcore, 2.9vdimm.

I give the mem 2.9vdimm just because people alway say that bh-5 loves volt's.

I'll try at 2.7 and see if I can get sucess! The stick's run 24 hour prime stable at 216 2-2-2-11, 1.95vcore, 2.9vdimm, 1.7vdd.

I think my processer can handle some more. 220x12 or 216x12.5 is what I'd like :)

Any idea's about this? Has this ever happend to anyone else?! or am I the lucky one :(

I might have found out. I just tried a BUNCH of things, and nothing helped. This time, 1.9vcore at 217fsb didn't pass, no matter what vdd(1.5-1.7) and vdimm(2.5-2.7) were at..

BUT, there is hope. I just saw this post

My setup does not like loose timings- I just finished priming for 8 hours with my Mushkin running at 2-2-2-5, 2.8 volts, 434 mhz-

12 X 217 = 2609, 1.9 vcore & 1.7 chipset.

It failed prime95 with timings set at 2-2-2-11 and 2-2-2-7 (Which I seem to remember alot of people are using).

2-2-2-6 passed prime95 as well, which Mushkin says the memory is rated for.

I'll off to test some more *fingers crossed*

Yes may be it. My crucial hates 11-2-2-2,11-3-3-3, or any variation with 11. I'm at 404 FSB with 7-3-3-3. I heard thats pretty good for crucial 2700.
