I have a BE6II running a Celeron 633 @950 at the 100 FSB.

My board tells me the chip's temp is 89 degrees F from a cold boot and goes as high as 107-114 F...is this too hot?

I am running a gold orb fan, should I get an alpha cooler for it or am I ok at this temp?

After taking a moment to equate that to celcius...um, yeah those temps are kind of high.

Unless your ambiant temps are very high, you should have the cpu just above ambiant at idle (with good case cooling), and under 100 to 105F max.

Gorbs really aren't cut out to cool the temps you're asking it to. I had one, and replaced it with an Alpha PEP66T. Instantly dropped 8C (15 or so F), with no other mods done.

You might want to look into a better hsf....Alpha and GlobalWin are good, Swiftech is too.

get either a pal6035 or a Global Win Fop 32, you will get much better temps with that. Also, using Artic Silver will only help things out, and temps in C please.
