I have a 'Targa' OEM Asus A7V8X which has a few features disabled, you know the norm, lol.
Anyways..
Im wanting to do some upgrading on the RAM, I currently have 2 sticks of 2100 amounting to 512mb in total. I've ruled out 3200, as my Agp/Pci/etc isn't locked to 33mhz. Unless anyone knows of a way to lock it then I dont really want 200/40 'something or another' FSB.
Would I really notice much difference in speed over 2100 if I upgraded to 2700? Im not talking 3dmark, I mean real world performance in games, etc.
Now my preliminary choices:
- Kingston HyperX "KHX2700" CL2 @ £60.86
- Corsair XMS "CMX512-2700C2PT" CL2 @ £70.49
- Corsair VS "VS512MB33" CL2.5 @ £53.98
- Some other 2700 £40 - £55 CL2.5, eg; Samsung, Twinmos
Would I really notice much of a gain in using the 'gaming' type memory with the more aggresive timings? As im a tight fisted git I'll save the money if I can.
Thank you people,
Dave.
