Good memory and cards that will tolerate high pci speeds are important. I just sold my CUSL2-C/866eb system but I had it running stabe at 160fsb. I had added extra case fans and use a Hedgehog/Delta38 sucking to keep it cool. Also put a Vantec HSF on the chipset. It was a great preformer for an Intel but I couldn't take it anymore, just couldn't compete with the speed of my Athalons so it had to go.

i doubt you will get a 1000mhz, you will probably need to get faster ram(pc150) but the biggest problem is the mobo, it wasn't desined for overclocking

The 700cco chips are one of the best for overclocking i'm not sure about the 733 but i havnt heard allot about them being really great for overclocking but some have had good results check the CPU database and see what others are doing with the same chip. goodluck

i BEG to differ, i have the SAME EXACT mobo Asus CUSL-2 with the latest E-prom FLASH and i am running a pentium111 800 EB, Overclocked at 1,185 GHZ, have had absolutely no problems! have been running this setup for about 4 months now, the stats are in my SIG.
Squid, i dont know what you have in your box, (Generic or brand name of video, generic or brand of ram, but if you have the right Combo of hardware, i KNOW that you would be able to hit a least 1 GHZ, not much more at all, but at least 1 GHZ should b no prob. =) GOOD LUCK!!

since the 733 is running on a 133MHz bus you will have to go to an unsupported bus, which has some problems with the hard disk, the graphics card and all the pci cards, for the best overclock, take everything out of your system that you don't need and when you reach a stable speed start adding them one by one to identify any problems with the high speed bus

Thanks all, now we know it can be done, so 1 gig here we go.

Squid, you won't make it. You can't get the FSB up high enough to do that. Lets say you get it to 150mhz bus. you are at 825. 160, 880. You aren't going to get much faster than that with any RAM. Mr. B has hit a wall with his ram. So i think the max you could get is 900, but that would probably be very unstable. Hate to say it, but the EB chips just suck for overclocking.

I guess it all depends on your setup and praying the wind is blowing right lol.

I have my PIII 733 on a cusl2 and it is running at 166/166/42 stable all with standard HSF and voltage, but she runs pretty warm under load ussually 48-49 and its pretty cool where I live at the moment..

I'm not sure if I'm lucky or just a good chip..(probably both)

Quazza, get a Fop32-1 for that P3. Should lower your temps 10C.
