I think that this would be a helpful thread for alot of people, since it looks like A64 RAM compatibility isn't up to par, especially when trying to overclock. Doing searches and reading other forums I found that there are actually quite a few people having stability issues with their A64. This is my experience so far

Abit KV8-Max3 with Mushkin 3500 lvl 2 stable only to 213 FSB

EDIT:
Gigabyte GA-K8NNXP with Mushkin 3500 lvl 2
Would run at 2.5 CAS at one point, but won't even boot at anything other than 2.0 CAS now. Running 238MHz @ 2-3-2-7 and underclocking RAM to 166. Runs around 198 @ 238.

I see MANY posts with people running 220 FSB at 1.5 volts and no hiccups right from the start. Please post and let us know what you are using.

What is the difference between the bhX's? Does anyone have a link that explains all about this and what type is good in what situation and how to tell what type I have? Sorry for being a little off topic. I too have been wondering about the right ram to get for an A64.

Shuttle AN50R, A64 3000+ and 1x512 Mushkin PC3500 level 1.

No problems posting, however I can only run cas 2, anything looser will not boot for some reason. After lots of testing, memory runs solid and error free up to 227 with 2-3-3-6 timings at 2.9v. Can run benchmarks up to 236, but gives error(s) in memtest86 from 228 and above.

I use a MS-6702 with Micron memory (see my sig). I have had no problems.

As Tom's article (http://www.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20040112/index.html) points out the 64 boards can be touchy with memory. You may want to consult the AMD validated list:

http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/DevelopWithAMD/0,,30_2252_893_10125,00.html

You won't see any consumer brands (Corsair Kingston) on AMD's list, but you can get the Micron through their direct sales division, Crucial.
