you can get any p3 700 at 933. Please don't buy pretested CPUs, it just makes intel and amd want to lock CPUs. Plus you are paying more for it.

This guy is well known and respected at the Anandtech forums. He actually has his own website now.

from what i saw, the 933 from pcnut is cheaper because it comes with everything, also im not to fond of putting stuff together, too risky IMHO

There actualy easier to put together
take this into account NO STATIC NO PROBLEM :)
I disagree that every 700 cpu will run 933.
Pc nut sells pretested not overclockable 700s for alot less than the ones guarateed.
If you look in the cpu database you will see some that go far less than 933.

well i read thier OC policy and they said that they test each processor for 12-24 hrs straight and if it doesnt work, they go to the trash or resale bin, i sent them a rather large email with my concerns about heat buildup
I picked one up from DA NUT...runs over a gig at default voltage, air cooled. It will really hit 1085 with 5% more voltage...this maxes my board though. He's a good seller...no BS........and it looks like he helps pay the bills here too. :)

thanks for the testimony, just another reason to buy from him once i get a job.... summer is here so i gotta get off my ass and work :(
Friends dont let friends buy pretested cpus, nice quote i saw from someone on these forum a while back.
pretesting from someoen that bought a cpu found it got that speed, and is sellign it for one reason or another is fine, but supporting retail places that go through them in bulk and do that is not good. the oem market ends up flooded with cpu's that cant oc worth a bit, and amd/intel see it and tend not to like it. kinda like why the intel cpus got multiplier locked in the first place

so the only reason you guys dont want me to get a pretested CPU is because it might offend intel? well im sorry but i think im gonna get a pretested because i dont want to run the risk that ill ruin a $120 chip accidently
umm, no read my post again. back in the day you could get an oem p2 and it would be about as ocable as a retail version, since pretesting cpus flooded the oem market with a bunch of cpus that dont oc for jack. and as far as offending intel, you enjoy high prices?
(and yes, i have an intel cpu so dont think i'm some amd fanboy)
Stuff Intel, go AMD you are guarranteed to get them up at least 50 MHz. They are better Ocers
But Fro......those days are gone.......at least for the 700e. As it stands now ,logic..and your own post explain why Endeavor would most likely get stuck with a dog 700 is he didn't go pretested. Intel is done with this cpu...what is left is all there is.
I understand what your saying about how this effects Intels' thinking but let's be realistic, we have created that market. It's too late to stop that.
What else could Intel do to hurt OC'ers that hasn't been done already...sort chips?? That's a big task and the fact is if they decide to do that.......we don't have to much to say about it either. I would hope they have better things to do.
I'm going to throw my two cents worth in. First PC NUT is a good, reliable vendor. Yes, his prices seem a little more expensive than some, but he always stands behind his product. If he sells you a CPU pretested and guaranteed for a certain speed, it will do that and probably more.
For some of the reasons given here about OEM vs. retail vs. pretested, I decided to spend a little extra and get a P-III 700 guaranteed to be stable at 1+ gig. I didn't actually get one from PC NUT, but he was a close second choice when I was looking to buy. Look at my signature, I'd say I got my money's worth. If you don't want to spend the extra for pretested, then great. But, then you take your chances, especially if you buy an OEM chip.
