View Full Version : Dual Boot menu problem
Hi All,
I went through 1 1/2 win XP pro instalations b 4 I got it to work, so when I completed the one I deleted the 1/2 straight from the HD but when I boot it still gives me the menu between two winXP's. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this?
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure I understand your problem given your incoherent jibberish :) , but I believe you're referring to removing the option to boot to a second Windows installation.
Right click on My Computer while logged in as an admin, then on the Advaned tab. The third button down should be Settings. You can now modify the startup settings and change the boot menu to your liking.

Alright, I'll try to keep my "incoherent jibberish" to a minimum:
Thanks, it worked.

Sorry about being a jerk there, hope you don't hate me!

No problem, my post should have been more clear.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this problem...!
The options on the menu are stored in the boot.ini file (in C: ). You can remove entries directly from there if you want. I think you can also use msconfig to edit the boot.ini file.
edit: canged C:) to C: ), I hate smilies!

Hmm...regarding your avatar...your glasses look intergrated :) You don't happen to work for a cheap PC manufacturer do you?
