Okay, I want to run all my case fans on another PSU, i took out a PSU from a old computer i had, but now to the question, how the hell do i power the up the PSU?!?!
anyone? LOL
Assuming your old PSU is also ATX - and that's why you're finding it difficult to power it up without connecting the PSU to a motherboard.
Powering up an ATX PSU is very simple. If you look at the 20 pin connector that goes into the motherboard, you'll see a GREEN wire. You will also see a BLACK wire right beside it. If your PSU is connected to power, just short GREEN and BLACK wire. Your PSU will power on (u can palce your hand at the rear and feel the PSU fan blowing out air). Actually you can short the green wire with any black wire, suggesting the balck one right next to it for simplicty.
You can find a more elaborate description with pictures at this site:

You can put a switch on your jumper wire and on/off the PSU as desired without having to connect/dsiconnect the jumper wire all the time.
Hope this helps. Cheers.

Yes, look for my image with the Smiley face bandanna. ;)
Just be certain to follow the wire colors there as not all
connectors have the same wire arrangement.
