View Full Version : i/o v
how high can i run the i/o v? default is 3.5. specs in sig. the thing i am trying to work around bsd during windows load. thanks!
The default i/o should be more like 3.3v not 3.5v. I don't feel comfortable running an i/o at more then 3.6 for any length of time. Raising the i/o can help if things like memory or the chipset are holding you back from reaching higher fsb's. The i/o also raises the voltage to your pci cards as well and sometimes this will help in letting you OC the memory on a video card a little more to.

Well some Abit MB's do come with 3.5 for default IOV. IOV when using this you have to be careful you can fry stuff easily if you get carried away, 3.6 you should have no problems and some can run more with no problems. All MB's are different though and i'm sure some could fry things easier then others so there is not really a set # to run with but again if you go too high you will start to toast things.
update if you do go over 3.6 I highly recommend some very good case cooling as well as some awesome northbridge cooling, video card ect ect.
