Right, so im looking into peltier cooling, just for fun and such... here goes:
I would most likely be getting a 226w pelt, as ive heard those are the way to go, im also looking at switching my current watercooling setup to the new koolance case i just bought (Case, CPU-200G, NB/Graphics, and a few HDD blocks) anyhow, koolance states the 200G as a 200w block, and obviously a 226w pelt + 60ish die is over 200w
how accurate is that 200w on the CPU block? is there ANY chance that the block will cool off the near 300w load?
Next question is: i have another powersupply around here i would be running the pelt off of (alone), is there any way to trip the PSU with my main PSU? (no flipping switches... if the main is on, the 2nd is on, etc)?

Yea the pelt puts out 226 but you have to remember to add the heat output of the CPU as well. Which will bring the total heat output up there. IMO it would be a bad idea to try and cool the pelt with the Koolance set-up.

No, the pelt puts out 13.1x25=327.5watts, plus your cpu.

It can cool 226watts. Varying the voltage, of course effects both of these.

You could run a pump relay and splice the second PSU into it, but make sure it's a beefy as hell psu.

the koolance won't do, simple as that. No coldplate, not enough radiaotr space, not enough flow. Won't work.

what about a 172w?

Nope.....

lol
i'll just phrase it like this:
assuming my chip puts out 90w
how big of a pelt could i cool with a koolance rig?

I'll rephrase what I said before. you can't use a pelt with your koolance block.

It doesn't support a coldplate. Now, assuming you rigged up a cold plate and mounting mechanism for it. I would trust anything over an 80watt on it. I might give it a 130watter at best. That would be roughly 290watts of heat, and you're temps would likely be worse than with just the koolance.

Sorry to be the bearer or bad news, but you're not going to be able to use a worthwhile pelt on the koolance setup.

It isn't even so much the waterblock, it's the insanely low flw through the whole system. the water in the block, would probably gain 10C while passing through the waterblock. then you factor in the other blocks you have, it's just not a good enough water setup.

It's fine for a single or maybe even double block setup. you're looking at maybe 150watts of heat. when you add even an 80watt pelt, you're doubling the heat going into the system.

A 226 watt 15v 25a peltier will consume the maximum of 18amps on 12volts. so thats 216watts of its own,

With a koolance, I wouldnt mess with peltier cooling, theres just not enough cooling power to go around.

well, it was worth a shot =P
my original WCing setup that i made COMPLETELY of scratch im VERY sure i could keep a pelt cold with, 3/8", 68 chevette core, 300gph pump... its solid, but i just got this koolance case, and i think im gunna switch, jsut cause it adds more space to my case...
oh well...
