My NF7 has been giving me problems with its multipliers over 10x(despite various BIOS)

Since my OC is not where I want it to be Ive decided to get better RAM. I currently have CH-5 and since BH-5 isnt available anymore here is what I am considering:

Possibly this (for some reason I think this may use BH-5)

I know it may seem like a stretch but I am really tring to push my NF7 into the 250mgz range. These are all the ones I could find on newegg that seemed promising. I am leaning more towards the first link for the PC4000 Geil. I could care less how it looks, I just want it to run @ 500mgz.

Im looking to spend about $140-150 for 2x256MB. The goal is to get it to run atleast 500mgz on my XP. That way I can justify getting an NF7 and make good use of the PCI lock.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but just to repeat. High latency memory and AMD don't mix. But if your dead-set for running a 500MHz FSB, for whatever reason - although performance wouldn't really be the top one - I would recommend OCZ PC-3700 Gold Rev. 2.0 .

OCZ PC-3700 Gold Rev. 2.0 comes with ProMOS chips that perform similar to high-clocking CH-5 memory. For the Gold Rev 2, OCZ has binned their chips to make sure you get the top performers (PC-3700 Gold Rev 2 is OCZ's highest speed w/ ProMOS chips, if I am not mistaken). These offer 240-250MHz w/ mid-grade timings (2.5-3-3) - still a trade-off from tighter timings but a lesser evil. It's not too cheap though.

That PC-3700 you have listed does not have any chance of coming with Winbond BH-5 chips.

I figured that much. I have little hope of getting any BH-5. Im just very interested in getting 250+ on the bus.

My NF7 for some odd reason wont run stable with any multiplier over 10x. Thats the core reason why I want a much faster bus.

Besides Im only using Level One right now anyway and my CH-5 is capping out @ 225.

However I want something that is gaurnteed to run 500mgz tho. I like the Idea of using 3700 but am hesitant to do so in case it wont run 500mgz.

If I can get 500mgz reguardless of timings, I may yet get 2.4 ghz. Without a high bus speed im screwed @ 2.25 :(

....Im still leaning more towards the Geil simply cuz its rated at that speed plus its cheaper!
