....Talk me into it. I'm no good with DOS and, as easy as it sounds, it sound VERY hard to me. I am really unsure of myself and don't want to screw up. I don't have a PCI video card for a back up. I just got this FX 5900 SE and if I kill it, my wife will kill me. We don't have the money to buy another.

Well....if you are not confident, don't do it. You really can screw things up, but its not that difficult. Its very simple. Barring some freaky accidental mishap there is no real chance it will go wrong. Just think about it before you attempt it. Good luck if you decide to go through with it.

I just did some looking and, for now, I think I'm gonna pass. I wanted to do it because every time I logged on, the OC settings were back to the default. I figured out that, I have to ( for some stupid reason ) set the OC on my wifes login as well as mine. Now all is peachy at 465/840 until I can get some better cooling.
I just wish I could figure out why 3DMarks03 is running my 2D settings instead of my 3D settings.

i wouldn't do it if i were you. pass on it for now 'cause you should always have a backup plan in place "in case something goes wrong". i just tried flashing my 5900 ultra using leadtek's winfox 2 which allows you to flash the card while in windows but nearly screwed up the bios after i edited it improperly with x-bios editor. luckily i backed up the original bios and was able to restore it with the winfox 2. i don't have a pci video card either and my floppy drive is busted so i couldn't do it the regular way through DOS. i have 2 backup AGP video cards though so i was willing to take the chance on my 5900 ultra. i plan to try it again when i get a new floppy drive though.
