View Full Version : Internet Options Home Page problem/question
I can't change the Home Page to about:blank.
Everytime I change it it goes back to "searchcentral...".I tried to delete cookies and internet files. No luck.I even modified the start page, search bar & search page from the registry... nothing helped.
What should I do?I guess one of my installed programs does this, right? But how can I know for sure?
Can anyone help me?

So you didnt fixed the problem you only switched what browser you are using? I wouldn't even bother removing IE because sooner or later you're going to need it for something.

So did you ever remove the spyware, or just install another browser? If you didn't remove the spyware DO THAT NOW! I recommend Spybot S&D. You can download that here (http://download.com.com/3001-2144-10194058.html). In Spybot click "search for updates" to get the newest spyware definitions. Then click "Scan for Problems" It should find some spyware. Be sure you remove the spyware. Then go in IE and change the homepage. If it keeps changing back to what it was, Go back to that page Kendan recommended and download another removal program
Switching to another browser didn't fix the problem at all, since it never removed the spyware.

get rid of that spyware dude!
they really should call it "scumware"
might also want to disable 3rd part cookies in the privacy tab of internet options, the no. 1 place for spyware cookies (ie doubleclick)
install Adaware too, using it and Spybot ensures you are clean.
I said "that was really good".I was reffering to the programs Kendan suggested. It's obvious I tried them and worked perfect.I removed all spyware.I just switched to Opera because I've heard it's better than IE.
And I already removed IE from Windows. But there's no problem if I want to reinstall it.I know how now.Let's just hope I'll never need it again. :)
