My bud has a Celeron 800 that will do 1200. I itried it today. It booted into Windows fine and thats on his standard Intel heatsink. Im working on a deal to get that cpu from him. Im sure it will do 1250-1300 because 1200MHz was using 1.80v and that got into windows. He sure got a nice cpu.
Are you sure you dont mean 1020?
If it is 1200 thats quite a gem :)

Well i checked the CPU data base i thought maybe your friend was pulling your leg but there is one entry for 1200 which is also the highest entry if you do get this PC definatly get a better heatsinkfan for it as its bound to be hot and before i bought it i would be curious if he has ran it too hot for very long.

No, my friend an't pulling my leg. See, he brought his computer over to my house, and I was the one that went into de bios and set it 1200. He was running it and still is at 1066 with 1.75v. Being the oc'er I am, I always want to see what cpus will do, so I set it first to 1100, then to 1200. 1200MHz is on 150MHz fsb. Let me tell you. My jaw hit the floor. The computer went into Windows without any problems. I have never seen that in my life before. Im working on a possibly obtaining that cpu. I'll buy him another Celeron 800 and run it at 1066. I had the V set to 1.85 at 1.2GHz.
My computer specs right now.
Celeron 600@900
512mb PC-133
15gig Seagate
ATI Radeon 32DDR
SB 128 pci
36x Acer cdrom
Panasonic 8x DVD

If this is for real...this is incredible. Have your friend download a copy of WCPUID. You can get it here:
http://www.tweakfiles.com/processor/wcpuid.html
If this is legit, I bet almost anyone on this list will want to see it. Have him copy and paste his result in a post or send it to someone who's on-list and can add it.

Have you tried it in your board, as you got a 50% increase out of your celly?
Well done anyway..

Ya, I'll get a pic up as soon as I can. He has it at 1066 right now. I tell you guys that when I went into his bios and set it to 1100Mhz my heart stoped beating. wow. Overclockers have the addiction so I went back in and tried 1200. OMFG its booting into windows at 1200MHz at 1.85v from 800mhz.
You know what my response was eh. I turned to him. "Ya bud, were making some kind of a deal here.." lol
Any how, Im sure it will do more. I just have to get a final on the deal.
His cpu is a gem stone. I will try and post a pic today, Im going over to his place. cheers.

told 'yall the Celeron 800 seems to be a very willing CPU! (there is no entry in the CPU database below 1Ghz for the 800) Mine will do 1120 @1.85v, only I need to upp the Vio a lot. So right now I went for a safer OC. But that's with a generic slocket on an Abit Be6-II, maybe with the Asus ppga boards it'll get even higher!

Hey Lancelot,
Get an MSI 6905. Better than Asus IMO.

Well, i definetly just junked the idea of getting a AMD system.....Im going back to the good old Celerons. I love to push the voltage up, so this should be quite a project. How much did you guys pay for your 800's?

I just wanna know. In order to get his cpu, I would have to buy him a new cel 800, proper cooling, and then buy myself the board he has. (Its in my price range and I know the cpu will do 1200 on it.) With all this I would be spending approx $300 can$, and right now Im running a Cel 600@900. HOWEVER:, I do have 128mb ram im selling and also a BE6-2 board so that could cover some of the cost, maybe 120-130. What you guys think?
Oh, please factor in your advice that next week is my birthday so I'll be getting some bday monay from relatives =), and I can also sell my Cel 600@900. Thx
btw his board (the one I'll get is the Asus CUV4X-C) Its $135 can.
