The standard BIOS that comes with the MSI K7N2-V does not have an adjustable vcore option. I have looked for weeks and cannot find an upgrade for this specific board. What puzzled me further was the fact that the board itself was not listed on the MSI website. However, I have downloaded the latest BIOS for the K7N2, with hopes it will work. Just wondering if flashing a K7N2-V with a K7N2 bios is gonna give me a very large expensive paperweight or not :(

You could try installing and using MSI live update (included on the MSI CD). Since I'm too d*mn lazy to search for the right bios updates on the MSI site, I use it on my K7N2-Delta and it works fine.

dont do that they use a different bios

http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detail_spec/product_detail.asp?model=K7N2-V

as he says use live update as this time msi search engine came up with a bios 5.2 but before im sure its was a bios 1.2

if 5.2 makes sense with the bios on it now its here

Well I'm feeling better about knowing the board is on the website, but the v5.2 bios has no adjustable v-core, and since that seems to be the only available version, is there any way I could get a bios for my board with adjustable vcore?

Not unless there is a modded bios out there. Given that MSI boards are not the darlings of overclocking, (they're just kind of middle of the road) I'd rather doubt that anyone has modded this one. Try google groups, however and best of luck.

well thanks anyway...I have overclocked a 1.6ghz applebred to 2.3, so I guess i should be fine with that, but any serious overclocking i should get a new board, huh?

Yeah, given that even the Delta-L only hits 1.8V without a modded bios. Abit boards seem to be the choice for serious OC'ing, but I'm perfetly happy with my MSI where it's at (see sig). With an Abit board, I could easily push my 2600 higher with the cooling I have, but since I depend on this rig for stability, I'm not really interested in the hassle, expense and time right now.
