On the folder menu for "view" their is the option to turn on status bar. Ofcourse everytime after I close a folder it turns off. Is there anyway that I can set the status bar to always be on in every folder?

Add THIS (http://ssrleague1.homestead.com/files/FolderSettingsREMEMBERED.zip)
to your registry and it should fix it.
