Hello, First off I have found a lot of great info on this site. Bear with me....I know quite a bit about computers just not OCing. I do know everyone is much more helpful here than [H]ard. So I thought I would ask for some info here:
1. Im thinking of buying an xp2800+, I see that a lot of ppl are using an xp2500+. Is there a reason for this other than cost?
2. Im also having a very hard time deciding between the NF7-S 2.0 board and the LP Ultra B. I know this is a wore out question but please humor me. Is the LanParty worth the extra $50?

1. Cost and the moblie 2500's tend to OC better.
2. IMO...No...but I also do not have many issues like most members tend to have with the NF7's...but I also have run abit boards in the past and know how picky they are and usally just takes time to figure out exactely what BIOS setting did what...The NF7-S rev 2.0 board is one of the best NF2 boards out...but also not a MB for a new OCer...it will be very frustarting for them...

You are unlikely to get a higher oc out of the 2800+. It's actually the other way around because the turn-over of 2500+'s means it will probably have the newer and better core.
I bought two 2800+'s at Christmas because they were unlocked (0330) but the chips were only AQUCA's!
There is advantage to the 2800+ only if chips are locked and your ram etc can not handle the higher FSB needed by the lower multi of the 2500+. However, since the mobile 2500+ that Glock mensioned oc's very well and is unlocked - that's the one to get.

So overclocking with a DFI LP is a little easier?
What about stability issues? ( I've read a lot about all the bios flashes for the LP )
And I should go with a 2500 mobile?
Isn't there a way to unlock the 2800?
Maybe anyone else out there that has the DFI LP can post their opinion on this. What do you think of the it ?
(Thanks very much for the advice Robin Hood and glock)

Also what kind of an overclock can I expect out the mobile 2500+ using air cooling and assuming that my internal case temp stays around 75 deg F?
What is the minimum speed of RAM that i need to make this happen?

This (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=271103) thread should help with the mobile 2500+ possibilities. With ram, the faster the better but with an unlocked chip you can still use the multiplier once you reach your FSB ceiling.
There are also treads around on locked chips and ones from wk 39 (etc) are LOCKED.
PS welcome to the forums
