If we could unlock it, AMD may never have come into existence.

This just me, but wouldnt Intel become MUCH more popular if they left their chips Unlocked?

Yes, but they also couldn't get top dollar for their 1 ghz chip since people could easily overclock slower chips at less cost.

AMD beats this by sellling everything at low cost, knowing very well a good percentage of their market is to overclockers. This entices people to buy faster to go faster, which is much more friendly to people like us but not of concern to the average PC user... Intel works on th opposite line of thinking, if you want to go faster you WILL PAY!

Yeah but I got my 750 well over a gig and I'm running way to cool to NOT wanna go faster. Anything anyone can suggest other than fsb?

You could buy 150 RAM, specified to run at 150 (and are more likely to run faster than that), but that's yet more money... case cooling is important too, so as you speed up and generate more heat, the fan is still blowing cool air over the heatsink... etc

Yeah but I have a specially engineered cooling system so I'm not really concerned about heat. I'm more concerned now about where I can find some ram designed to run at 150.
