View Full Version : underside of the chips
i took 2 c2's that i had and looked at the underside of them. one is a c2-566 and the other is a c2-700 both chips had the identicle markings and resistors or capacitors on them, but i did notice that there were no markings on the res/cap. my 2 cents. WHAT IM AFTER is on a motherboard that automatically sets the bus speed by the type of processor; how do you overcome this?
If you really want to get into overclocking, you really should consider getting a good motherboard. However, I have heard of a trick where you cover one of the CPU pins or something like that in order to trick it into thinking it's really a 100 MHz bus chip. Sorry, that's all I know. Maybe Tim can give you more info, I think he has done this in the past.
have overclocked plenty just never on a mother board that was sensitive to what processor was on it... anyway i bought a blaster pc kit from tiger direct that has a mother board on it from creative with a soundblaster live platinum built into the mother board and all the external connex built in to the front of the case..\
anyhow im looking for the p21 trick on toms hardware now any other tips or hints would be greatly appreciated..
im building this machine for lan parties because my main machine is in this huge tower and i hate packing it around..
this sounds like a good trick though i hope i can find it and that it works.
