I recently built a new machine and need to know how the main power switch on the front of the case should be hooked up. It has 4 prongs on it, I went with the 2 on the right hand side. The switch is not consistant. Sometimes when I push it in and the computer starts and then stops after about 3 seconds. After pushing the switch in twice it starts and everthing works fine. Once it starts it does stays running.

Would appreciate any feedback!

Read your mobo manual, it will tell you how to connect the power switch. All 4 prongs should be plugged in.

Also you have BIOS settings to think of where you can customize how switch acts but Ive never seen options do what u describe though.

What kind of case is that?

I game up on the 4 prong switch. Found a 2 prong switch and it works good.
