i have a celly 566 cbo in an iwill slotkit on a abit bx6 board, and it will run at 995 but i have to up the voltage between 1.9-2v. if i have good cooling will this voltage hurt the chip. at 117 fsb i can set the pci to 1/4 so the system doesnt get to out of wack.

right now i have a alpha pal 6035 with a 3800rpm sunon fan. my delta 38 is in the mail. hopefully the delta will keep temps under control.

just want to know how safe it is to run at the higher voltage.

i'm running 2.05 on a p31g@1255 allthough ive heard its not good to run Intel over 2.00 even though the Intel specs say you can run them higher, personaly i would check the CPu database and see what other people have run there CPU's at and look to see how long they have been running with high CV. i'm sure you know all CPU's even the same brand and MHZ will be affected differently by high CV but i'll thow my 2 cents in anyway.

Well i just checked the CPu database and there are quite a few people running over 2.00 [i quit counting at 17] so you should be fine, some have been running for many weeks.

goodluck

Yeah, you're fine. For about a month and a half I had to push 2.05v to get my gig. Now I'm back down to 1.9v
Once you get the Delta, you'll cool down nicely.

Thanks LutaWicasa, I was wondering what you did since we have a similar computer setup.

You can push the P3 to 2-2.05, but I wouldn't stay there for long. Maybe burn in the cpu at that voltage to lower the actual running voltage.

the 'Ideal' voltage is 1.95 or lower.
