With the new form factor being introduced, you would think they'd make it obvious if you were about to buy BTX stuff. So unless it says BTX on it someplace, you should be golden.

The shift is supposed to start around the time 939 is launched, but expect BTX to be the minority for awhile.

I know that there is a new form factor that we are suppose to switch to that is more cooling efficient. I think it is called BTX.

No one can tell you except the mobo manufacturers. You can incorporate PCI-X and Socket 939 just as easily into an ATX or BTX mobo.

If it's PCI-X, then maybe. Most PCI-X boards are EATX and require a longer area for mounting. If it's PCI-Express, most likely it'll be BATX form factor, but manufacturer's may make some boards compatible with legacy cases.

If a company in the computer industry says next month, they mean next year it will be useable and not competely horrible, overpriced or even unreleased.
