I posted about not being able to get a 800E and I would have to go for the 800EB but this store does have the 750E retail box for 200$ can.
What are my chances of getting to the magical 133mhz FSB ? Or close to it? Well, even 900mhz but I mean 1Ghz is more prefered.

$130. us is alot for a 750e.
But I guess you pay no shipping and can see what you are getting.
If its a retail cpu with cCO you should be able to get close to 133 fsb.
The cpu database shows the average for the 750 is 951mhz but that includes cB0 and cC0 steppings.

Will show you the letters and numbers to look for on the box or cpu.

200$ thats close to what i paid for my p31g at Fry's but i did buy it with a MB in a combo deal. do some more shopping and you will be allot happier in the long run. 200$ is way to much for that CPU.

goodluck

In the past, lots of people had trouble getting their P-III CPUs up to 133 FSB or above. There is lots of speculation that Intel took the cream of the 7.5X multiplier crop and sold them as 1 gig chips for a higher profit.

Heard the same thing, and from a purely economic standpoint, makes sense.

I have a cC0 running at 1Gig. Runs stable1 with PEP66 at 36C under full (Genome) load.

It took a lot to get it there initially needing 2.2v then 2.1v and now 2.05v. Given the life expectancy of any cpu these days (constant upgrades rather then burn-outs) I'm not concerned at the high voltage.

YMMV
