Ok hear me out. I decided to put together a comp outa spare parts for my friend who has a 500mhz amd pos right now. Anyway specs are 1.6ghz duron, 1 gig ddr2100, 50gig hd, 56x cdrom, and a ...... geforce MX420. Now the videocard sucks and I know it. And I know he plans on putting a new one in this but it got me thinking about overclocking. 250/333 is stock I got it to 325/405 with stock cooling and no volt mods. Now im wondering if anyone knows any links to any volt mod tutorials for the mx420. I wanna see how high I can get this to go before it goes pop. I have a old crystal orb I will put on it and some ramsinks, but any info on overclocking this whimp of a card please let me know.

I put ramsinks on my mx420 and i got to 325/465

Yes the oc did make a difference in gameplay but i still had to leave all detail levels on low with any games that were 2-3 years old.

so honestly i think if u oc it to the moon it still wont be close to the mx440 and thats not good.


ps. if u want to know a game that the mx420 will play awsome only when oc'ed? Test Drive 6! lol.
