I think that the memory should be PC3200 but this is what I have now. I have tried (unsuccessfully) to build a rig with an
Abit IC-7 board (two of them actually) and could not even get it to post. I have tried every troubleshooting technique that I could find but still no post. I think it is time to try another manufacturer and maybe Asus will earn my business. Any suggestions?

sounds like an excellent system.

good luck.

if you have any problems feel free to post.

512 ram? try squezzing in for another stick.. 512 is the minimum now a days :D

i agree with ciku, go with 1 gig of ram and go with at least pc3500 and you will be happy.I am not happy with my pc3200 anymore after seeing what ciku has gotten his fsb to after upgrading to pc3500.Its better to just spend the extra dough otherwise you will prolly be kicking yourself down the road like i am.

Polargoat, id be happy with pc3200.. im not stuck with my 2x256 pc3200, cant use it and nobody is buying it :(

did you say your not stuck with it?sounds like you are hehe.I sold my 2 sticks of 256 for 80 bucks. Its selling for 150 on newegg.com  i pretty much just wanted to get rid of it since i had no use for it and it was just going to collect dust.Im just happy somebody bought it.
I guess if your upgrading from like pc2100 or some old system pc3200 is great but if you want the full o/c effect from your cpu higher rated ram is the way to go.Its all about how much money you are willing to spend and what end result you want.
