I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to best use my P3-533EB-256k Slot 1 CPU with my old Asus P2B440 Slot 1 board.
The reason I need to do this is because I am currently running an Asus P3C2000 board and it has memory bigtime problems, so until I can afford to replace it I want to run it on my P2B board.
I tried it quickly at 5.0x133mhz and my RAM would not init.
So I tried it at 5.0x100mhz and it works fine, but bios picks up as only 400mhz. Can I increase this somehow?
I also have a P2-350 chip that I was running at 466mhz on the P2B without any problems. (running cool)
I have 256mb of PC100 RAM if that helps any.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

If memory serves me correctly, that board maxes out at 450?

Have you tried moving the jumpers around a bit on the board?

The board is capable of handling a P3-800 I believe...
The P3-533EB is 4.0x133mhzFSB, the P2B board is only has a 100mhzFSB. I have it currently performing well at 4.0x - 124mhz which gives me a P3-496mhz running at only 31deg.
I tried running it at 133mhz but my PC100 ram won't init., its weird because my RAM will work fine with my P2-350 running at 3.5x133mhz = 466

I was just wondering what else to try to get it to at least perform close to what its capable of...

Shadow рс is right....furthermore....that mobo WILL NOT support a EB cpu. If you haven't updated the BIOS for coppermine support (v1.12 or later), or can't ...be aware ALSO that the mobo is feeding 2.0 volts to your 1.65v cpu....not wise.
