like the thread title says.
Are the Bartons the only chips that can be locked?
Just wondering.
Was thnking of picking up a couple of XP2400s to mod for SMP. For a workstation dualie at the office.
Want to make sure I get L5 mod-able ones.

I'm not sure whether your question is referring to CPU's that are multiplier unlocked or whether you are referring to CPU's that can be L5 modded (the SMP mod.)

No AMD CPU's manufactured since around week 39 of last year, are unlocked. They are ALL LOCKED, NOW! The only exception is mobile Athlons, which are unlocked, but require a bit more modification, then the old Athlon XP's, did.

As for the L5 mod, I'm not aware of ANY AMD CPU's that are incapable of being L5 modded. Every AMD chip that I have ever tried, or heard about, has been able to be L5 modded.

Yeah...I should have worded my thread a bit more clear.
