sorting sound by program?

is there a program that will let me control volumes of specific programs instead of the sound type?

most programs have individual sound controls that are specific for each program

i've found that usually programs do have sound controls, but most actually link back to the regular control panel in windows and end up turning volume of other programs up or down as well.
