I am running a P3 650 at 939 with a golden orb slot cooler. The stepping on the CPU is cB0. I have a Soyo mainboard that supposrt bus speeds up to 155. I have the chip running a 148@939 MHz on air cooling. When I load it up on 1008 MHz it stalls during load up of Windows ME and the same with 975 MHz. What do I need to do to get this baby to boot up when running 1 GHz? Do I need a new HSF? The golden orb keeps this 939 at 30C at idle. Please help me I want to break the barrier!!
Cooler is always better.
Raising the vcore voltage might help but also makes more heat.
You may be able to get it it stable but maybe not.
Goodluck.

Did you try raising Vcore? When you do be careful it might affect your CPU temp a lot, best thing to do first is a burn-in @ 650 with higher Vcore after that lower the Vcore and see how high you can go, If that didn't help raise the Vcore step by step.
A new HSF might also help.
What is your temp under full load?
Anyway it's a nice OC already.

Thanks so much I have increased the VCORE voltage by 7.5% b/c any lower would have not worked. I am now running a P3650@1008 and I am idle at about 30C with aGolden Orc Slot cooler. Thanks alot I am now at the max my board can go I am restricted b/c of the multiplier now so I amrunning 155x6.5. Once again thanks for the help.

Well I have been stressing the system out most of the day since it is at 1008 from 650. No problems yet no stalls or anything it keeps on running. The temps are hanging around at about 30 idle and 45 full load with a golden orb slot cooler.

You've got to get some other HSF.......the load temps will fall quite a bit. Rather good results on you o/c so far :)

What HSF should I buy to cool this down a bit more on load temps?
Alpha 3125s or globalwin vos32.
The alpha is best but a bit more expensive and might block off the 1st memory slot.
