View Full Version : My experience...
Hi,
I've got my 750 at 1GHz but with vcore of 2.0. It is very stable though with Prime95 running constantly on it. I too am running a PEP66. However, I haven't got a thermister yet so I can't comment on the CPU temperature.

I wouldn't run it until you're positive of the temps... running it for too long at that high a voltage without your temps being monitored is a risk I would be unwilling to take with what is obviously a decent chip.
The voltage is a bit high, burn the CPU in for a day or so and see if you can get it around 1.90, but take care of the temp monitoring first!
There is a good chance that after a while of running like that that you can bring the voltage down, I wouldn't go to the effort of burning in as most people that argue for burning in say that it just happens without all the leaving it runnnig prime95 etc..
I usually say that 2v is the absolute max to throw at a coppermine. And if yours is stable then I much doubt heat is an issue as the cpu is only putting out about 25W so as long as your case temp isn't above 40oC then you are ok. Intel chips are so easy to keep cool due to their low watt output.
The Pep66 is probably doing the job, but I would like to see the thermistor cpu temp before pushing it much.
My 750 is content at a much lower voltage (1.78 ) at 1000 mhz. Push the voltage up to 2.0 and the temps jump on the cpu under load. In fact, the system becomes more unstable with the high voltage. I don't know if it is the voltage or the temp that is the problem then.
Sounds like a good 750. Don't break it.
