About a year ago I OC'd my 566 to 852MHz. I have recently been having problems with lockups, so decided to slow down the chip and see if it helped. I don't know what I did, but man have I got problems now. Whenever I boot, i get a "CPU is unworkable or has been changed" message. I go into BIOS and SoftMenu and it says I am a 233!! I change it back to UserDefined FSB 100, Multi 8.5 Voltage 1.95, save and exit. Iget the same warning message. I F1 and am able to boot up and everything works. Sandra says I am 852 etc. etc. CPU temp is 32C. What I would like to do is get everything back to standard and start over. I don't have any idea why the BIOS isn't holding the settings.
Hep Me! Hep Me!
Check to see if you have "hold on error" disabled in the SoftMenu. If not, then switch it to disabled. Everything will be swell afterwards!

Not only that, but try clearing the cmos via the jumper on your board, should be by your battery, also you may want to replace your cmos battery because when they go, your cmos looses the bios settings.
Good Luck and let us know what you find!
i believe the bx6 default chip is a p2 233 processor. maybe your bios battery needs replacement

I can't believe that I didn't see that hold on error setting. It did solve my boot up problem. Thks a bunch.
