Where can I find the info to unlock the Celeron 400? I thought it was out in the tips sections somewhere but I couldn't find it. If someone could point me toward the right door, I'd appreciate it.
This is a PPGA, btw. I'm hoping it can be done to these like the Slot 1, anyway.
No unlocking Intel chips my friend. The only way to juice that thing up is through the system bus and I'd say you're only going to get about 83Mhz if you're lucky. Hope I'm wrong and you get more but the old core doesn't clock well at all unless you've got one of those special 300A Cellies.
You have to get a special overclocking key to unlock that Celeron. Just joking. Nope, there is no known way to unlock the Intel CPUs, sorry. Do some cooling mods (like add a case fan and use a good CPU cooler with thermal paste) then crank the bus speed up to 75 MHz and you'll have a 450 CPU, no problem.
I think the last unlocked intel cpu was either the P II 233 or Celeron 300. Early '98, I think....

There were a spotty few after that that were downwardly unlocked. You could (in some cases) use a lower multiplier than default.
No unlocked Celeron CPUs were ever produced, with the possible exception of a few engineering samples. Some of the early production P-II chips were unlocked.

Yea I have the same problem I have a 533 and I can only get a FSB of 77mhz which puts me at 600 but I do have my dram clocked to a nice 124

Perhaps I mis-stated what I meant. I thought there was some kind of pin "adjustment" on the chip that would allow the motherboard to use a FSB of 100 as opposed to 66. Was I wrong or is this some other processor that I read about?

No i dont beleive that there is a pin adjustment on the CPU that can change your FSB settings sometimes there are some jumpers on certain motherboards that will change FSB and others will do it through BIOS. there have been a few threads regarding the pins on the CPU itself but that is a mod for raising core voltage to your proccesor more then BIOS will allow.
