View Full Version : Overclock Celeron 400
I have a Celeron 400. What's the maximum clockfrequency without damaging the CPU. Do I have to adjust the voltage too?
the ppga celeron tops out usually at around 550-600mhz, so with your chip a 100mhz fsb would give 600mhz. You may need extra voltage, with the default intel cooler don't go above 2.2v and make sure there is adequate case air flow
Well the point is I can't change the CPU voltage, but a very good cooler. It works fine @ 500 (which is bus 83), but @ 600(bus 100). I dunno whether it will hold or not...
Well if it's stable at 600mhz then you are ok, to check if it's stable you need to run the prim95 torture test as this is about the most stressfull test there is, I'll send it you if you want.
Can your board monitor the cpu temp?
Yes plz send it. Well I can only see the System Temp. Not the CPU temp. I know this might sound strange, but I CAN put in a max CPU temp(for a warning). Which is atm 60 degrees. My email is miguel.sanders@pandora.be.
thnx a lot man
it's sent, I've put instruction in the email.
